We are delighted to welcome a total of 11 new apprentices to MEYER-JUMBO. With lots of motivation, commitment and curiosity, they are starting their professional future and will get to know the different areas of our company and our logistics over the coming years.
A wide range of apprenticeships
Five of our new trainees are training as professional drivers. Among other things, they learn how to handle modern vehicles safely, plan and prepare tours, and transport a wide variety of goods properly. Training starts on a Sprinter van, gaining first practical experience in road traffic and in dealing with customers and transport orders. Over the course of their apprenticeship, the future professional drivers develop their skills step by step – with the goal of successfully driving a 40-tonne lorry.
Four more apprentices are starting their commercial training in freight forwarding and logistics services. In this profession they learn the commercial and organisational processes behind our transport and logistics services. These include planning and handling transports, dispatching vehicles and drivers, looking after our customers and processing orders and freight documents. By working in different departments, the apprentices get to know how things fit together within the company and develop an understanding of the many tasks in logistics.
Two apprentices are starting as warehouse operatives. Their training is all about the proper receipt, inspection, storage and picking of goods. They learn how to record goods correctly, store them safely and prepare them for onward transport. Another focus of their training is loading and unloading the various vehicles.
A successful start to their careers
We wish our new apprentices a successful start, exciting experiences and an instructive time at MEYER-JUMBO. We look forward to accompanying you on your way, supporting your development and preparing you as well as possible for your future working life.
